Welcome to the Capital Area National Homeschool Honor Society
We regret that we are no longer an active Honor's Society.

Thank you for your interest

Capital Area National Homeschool Honor Society (CANHSHS) is made up of 7th-12th grade homeschoolers who have excelled in their academics. We meet at Triangle Community Church in Apex every 2nd Thursday from August-May of every school year, except the first informational meeting in August and the last off site social meeting in May. The official meeting is from 7-9, but we hold a pre-pizza dinner meeting from 6-7 as well for those who want to socialize and eat pizza! Browse through our site to learn more.

Yearly Activities

At CANHSHS, we strive to create an
enthusiasm for scholarship, render meaningful community service, encourage and develop leadership, and foster character and integrity. Those are our four chapter focuses. During the 2019-2020 school year our chapter focus was creating an enthusiasm for scholarship. For our 2020-2021 school year, we will be centering these same events around a new focus: rendering meaningful community service!

Officer Elections

At the start of every year, our members participate in the officer elections. Every student has the chance to vote for who they believe will best lead them through the year. The officers elected at this meeting will lead the students and help run the honor society that year. For the 2019-2020 school year many members ran for office, but only 7 were chosen to be officers. Check out our Members page to see who they were!

Winter Service Event

Our annual winter service project is one of our ways of giving back to the community. Each year our service chair selects an organization that we work with to give our members the chance to volunteer and serve the community. For the 2019-2020 year we chose the Helping Hands Mission to be the organization we worked with. Check in later to see what our 2020 Winter Service Event will be!

Spring Social

Our spring social is a chance for our members to engage with one another and just have fun. The social gives all members the opportunity to enjoy themselves and hang out one last time at the close of the academic year. The spring social for the 2019-2020 year was not held due to COVID-19. Check in later to see what the 2021 Spring Social will be!
